When you get married at Colstoun House there are so many wonderful spots to have your ceremony. The Polytunnel is totally unique; it has amazing light and is adorned with creeping plants and flowers, to provide a stunning backdrop to say 'I do'.
It was the perfect place to marry Fiona and Will on a bright crisp February day!
Growing up in opposite ends of the country, they first met at Heriot-Watt University when Will was recruiting new members for the rowing club. He successfully sparked Fiona's interest and in and out of boats and bars their romance began to blossom. As time went on, as a result of Will's Essex influence, Fiona's Aberdonian accent became a little less pronounced and she also developed a long term addiction to a spray tan!
They got to know and love each others families, enjoyed ski trips together and backpacked around South East Asia. Then with Degrees in hand, they settled into working life in London and bought their first home together. During these years Will surprised Fiona with lots of unexpected romantic gestures and Fiona delighted Will with lots of perfectly made Aperol Spritz's.
A surprise proposal in Tallinn followed, after which the wedding planning began. They married on the same date as Fiona's parents and her mum's parents before them. So we all gave her mum and dad a round of applause during the ceremony, as they were celebrating their 30th wedding anniversary!
Their wedding had so many personal and meaningful touches. They wrote their own lovely and heartfelt vows.
Their sister in law shared the lovely reading 'An Apache Wedding Blessing'
They had great fun sharing a drink from a quaich and making their parents all share one too. It was a drink perfect for them and a mix guaranteed to get a party started. Can you guess what it was?
Yep - A Jaegar Bomb!
Their wedding ceremony was the perfect balance of fun, laughter and happy tears. All captured perfectly by the uber cool and talented Solen Photography.
It was my very first wedding of 2019 and I couldn't have asked for a nicer couple to share it with. I was delighted when Fiona and Will wrote afterwards:
"We wanted our ceremony to feel relaxed and personal and Candice made it just that. She took time to get to know us and our story and let us put our own personal spin on things. On the day she made us both feel relaxed, she delivered our ceremony in a very meaningful and fun way. Our guests commented on just how personal it was and that it really reflected the two of us as a couple"
Thank you Fiona and Will, I had a blast and really loved being a part of your day!
