Fees

Humanist Society Scotland were the organisation to campaign for legal humanist marriage in Scotland and it is the only non religious organisation to be 'prescribed' under the 1977 Marriage Act. This means that all our celebrants are authorised on an ongoing basis, rather than a temporary basis like other providers.

All our celebrants contribute part of their fee to help with the continued development of humanist ceremonies, ongoing campaigning and charitable work.

The following Ceremony fees are for 2023/24

Wedding £475 plus travel at 45p per mile to venue and back on the day. £10 flat fee for Edinburgh City.  

Naming Ceremony £225 plus travel at 45p per mile to venue and back on the day. 

Funeral £200 (Payment of the fee is usually arranged through the Funeral Director)

Extended Funeral £230

Funeral (under 18 years old) £0
